Event Details
Maximum capacity has been reached and further registrations are added to the waiting list. See below for details.
Climate, or terroir, affects both the alcohol level and ripeness of a wine: a grape varietal grown in a warmer climate is likely to be higher in both alcohol and how ripe the fruit smells and tastes than if grown in a cooler climate. In this session, we’ll take a deeper dive into wines with differing levels of alcohol and ripeness in wines. This session will be led by former CUBWTS president Patrick Brechka, who has multiple years of Varsity experience and was on the team who came second in the Left Bank Bordeaux Cup international final this year.
The tasting will feature 6 different whites and 6 different reds.
Please bring your own set of 6 ISO tasting glasses, available to buy here. These will be available for collection on Sunday!
Date: Sunday November 7th
Time: 7.30pm (Please arrive at 7.20pm so we can start pouring right at 7.30pm!)
Where: Leckhampton dining hall, 37 Grange Rd, Cambridge CB3 9BJ
Cost: £18
Tickets go on sale on Wednesday 3rd November at 6pm, until Thursday 4th November at 6pm. Each person can buy a maximum of two tickets; further tickets bought by the same person will be refunded.
Please note: in order to prevent the system overselling during heavy site traffic, the default for ticket registrations is ‘not approved.’ Tickets will be manually approved, first come first served, up to the maximum capacity. Registrations after that point will constitute the waiting list. If your registration is approved, you will receive an email with a payment link. Payment for approved tickets must be made before Thursday 4th Nov at 6pm, otherwise these registrations will be invalid and the slot(s) offered to people on the waiting list. Please email Emer (ecj35) with any queries
