Alcohol/Ripeness

Why does this wine smell like a hot fruit pudding? And how can a wine taste of minerality? What does that even mean?

We are delighted to welcome Elise Liu for this session. Elise is a previous Society President, Varsity Match Winner and European winner of the Left Bank Bordeaux Cup. This year, Elise is serving as President of CU Wine Society.

She is a very experienced blind taster and will guide us through analysing a wine’s alcohol level, recognising how ripe the aroma and flavour of a wine is; together these traits can tell us lots about what a wine might be and where it might be from.

Hopefully, as well as learning about blind wine, you’ll also discover some new wines that you like!

Please bring your own set of 6 ISO tasting glasses, a pen, and some paper. Glasses are available to buy here.

 Date: Sunday, 6th November
Time: 19:30 (Please arrive at 19:20 so you can pick up your glasses and set them out for pouring!)

Presenter: Elise Liu, previous Society President, Varsity Match and European Winner of the Left Bank Bordeaux Cup and current CU Wine Society President
Cost: £18
