Champagne is an instant byword for wealth, success, victory, and celebration, but what’s really the big deal?

It’s the holiday season when many of us will open a bottle of fizz with family or friends. Does it need to be Champagne?

Join us for our special holiday tasting and decide for yourself at 19:30 on Wednesday December 1st as we blind taste 10 different sparkling wines from around the world. Former society president Patrick Brechka will reveal the wines and explain a bit about the different production methods used for sparkling wines.

Two flights of 5 sparkling wines will be served, including:

Cheap and Cheerful: Delicious affordable sparkling wines under £20.
The Heavy Hitters: Vintage Champagne and their competition.

Please note the following before you purchase tickets: THIS IS NOT A COMPETITION TRACK TASTING. TICKETS TO THIS NEED TO BE PURCHASED SEPARATELY.

The cost of the tasting is £25 (this is due to the higher base price of sparkling wine and so we can serve you higher quality festive favourites).

This tasting will be at Hughes Hall in the Pfeiffer Room from 19:30 – 22:00
All attendees must check in at the Hughes Hall Porters Lodge
All attendees must bring their own 5 tasting glasses
All attendees must take a lateral flow test and bring email/text proof of the result from NHS submission.

Tickets will be released at 6 pm on Monday November 29th.
