Champagne is an instant byword for wealth, success, victory, and celebration, but what’s really the big deal?
It’s the exam season when many of us will open a bottle of fizz with friends. Does it need to be Champagne?
Join us for our special tasting and decide for yourself at 19:30 on the 14th of May (Sunday) as we blind taste 10 different sparkling wines from around the world. Former society president Patrick Brechka will reveal the wines and explain a bit about the different production methods used for sparkling wines.
Two flights of 5 sparkling wines will be served, including:
Cheap and Cheerful: Delicious affordable sparkling wines under £15.
The Heavy Hitters: English sparkling wines vs. Champagne.
The cost of the tasting is £25 (this is due to the higher base price of sparkling wine and so we can serve you higher quality favourites).
Please bring your own set of ISO tasting glasses. Glasses are available to buy here. If you don’t want to purchase ISO glasses, you need to bring six glasses for the tasting. We now also have Society carrying bags for your set of ISO glasses, available to buy here.
