Event Details
“Wine of kings, the king of wines” (Louis XIV on Tokaji); “Noble rot” (a rather nice name for the “grey mould” that affects grapes).
Sweet wines have quite the affiliation with royalty and related terms! Some being the birthday gift of choice for Queen Victoria or the tipple to grace the tables of Russian Czars.
Regardless of their illustrious heritage, they’re really just extremely tasty wines that can be paired with both sweet and savoury food. How versatile and practical, too!
This week’s session will be led by Victoria Phan, your current CUBWTS Secretary. Victoria is one of the most experienced blind tasters in the society, having been on the wine tasting scene for 8 years and serving on numerous CU Blind Wine Tasting Society and CU Wine Society committees over the years. She is a wonderful wine educator who frequently runs blind wine tasting events both for other university societies and private firms.
Come join us on Sunday to learn more about these delicious wines!
Please bring your own set of ISO tasting glasses. Glasses are available to buy here. If you don’t want to purchase ISO glasses, you need to bring five glasses for the tasting. We now also have Society carrying bags for your set of ISO glasses, available to buy here.
