Event Details

If you’ve ever wondered why your fancy uncle gets excited when a wine has distinct notes of pencil shavings, or why wine people won’t stop calling tannins “supple” or “gritty”, this is the session for you.

In this tasting we focus on the nose and tannin of wines. Led by Belinda Brooks-Gordon, Chartered Psychologist – and key member of last year’s coaching team, and Society president Elise Liu, CUWS President 2018-19 – and key member of last year’s European Champion Varsity Team.

The session introduces the aromas important to understand wine, and what tannins tell us about what grape a wine is made from and where it has been grown.

Please bring your own set of 6 ISO tasting glasses, available to buy here. These will be available for collection on Sunday!

Date: Sunday November 17th
Time: 5 – 7:30 pm (Please arrive at 4:45pm so we can start pouring right at 5pm!)
Where: Bevin Room, Churchill College
Cost: £14
